Focusing is a body-oriented process of self-awareness, deep emotional healing and authentic growth. It is a process of accessing and utilising your Embodied Intelligence to learn how to move forward in your life.

Focusing is a process of entering a special kind of awareness, different from our everyday awareness. It is open, turned inward, centred on the present and your embodied, inner experiencing. Although simple and natural, it is also a radical departure from the usual ways we operate in our modern societies. 

This course and practice will help you access, regulate, and integrate your life experience. It will help you provide a safe sanctuary to all aspects of yourself to come home into your embodied awareness. As such, the Focusing process is a profound act of self-compassion. 

This course is ideal if you want to:

Focusing is a method for the brave, courageous and big-hearted souls – for people who can allow themselves to care and connect no matter what comes, to make intuitive leaps, and to sit in the silence of ‘not knowing’ waiting for something ‘more’ to emerge.

You will learn the basics of Focusing in part 1, gain the skills to practice it for yourself and experience immediate benefits. To thoroughly grasp the process, cultivate your Presence and enhance your skills, continue to part 2. Mastery takes practice, and coming to the monthly group practice sessions supported and guided by the Focusing teacher would be helpful.

Part 1 – Discovering Your Body Intelligence

If you’re ready to learn this transformative self-awareness and healing practice in a guided and supported way, this is the place to start. You will gain:

  • a practical, step-by-step method for starting with any problem or stuck situation and finding a new way of connecting with yourself, clarity, and relief

  • a simple but powerful deep listening process that reaches beneath the surface and teaches you how to be supportive of yourself and other people

  • an ability to recognise distinct ‘bodily knowing’ and your ‘felt sense’- a holistic sense that is meaningful and relevant to your life situation

  • a way of trusting what you know and realising that you know more than you think

  • a method of moving forward and taking your learning beyond the course and into your daily life

You will have the opportunity to observe demonstrations, immediately apply gained skills through individual and group practice, and carry them forward into their lives. This training is practice-focused, hands-on, with individual attention and guidance and includes a comprehensive workshop manual.

Part 2 – Deepening the Healing Process

Part 2 of your Focusing Course supports you in deepening your experience with this method and learning how to deal with the most typical blocks to Focusing: the inner conflicts, interruptions, doubts, distractions, feeling too much or not feeling at all. As you deepen the process for yourself, you will learn how to support the process and practice of others.

You will gain:

  • more practice being compassionately Present with your difficult experiences and emotions

  • advanced, deep listening skills

  • learning to support the unfolding process of others

  • support in getting the most out of your Focusing process, especially in the places where you know it could go further, but it doesn't

  • clarity about possible ‘stuck’ places in each stage of the process and what to do about them

  • skills to help yourself and others when feeling overwhelmed, highly stressed, having problems with procrastination, or sleeping

  • ability to help yourself and others when encountering resistance to feeling anything

  • skills to work through significant blocks to Focusing: being in the inner conflicted state of being identified with one side of reality and your experience

  • more opportunities for supported practice with partners, as well as for questions and discussion

You will have the opportunity to observe demonstrations, immediately apply gained skills through guided practice, and carry them forward into their lives. This training is highly experiential and includes a comprehensive workshop manual.
